old habits die hard
On opening night of NEXT Festival 2023, my exhibition included an interactive aspect. On the window sill that displayed my publications, a disposable camera (like the ones that I used throughout the duration of my thesis) + a card that read "old habits die hard" + further instructions sat, waiting for participants.
I instructed viewers to pick up the camera (turn on the flash — although not all followed directions) + snap a photo of themselves +/or others interacting with my work.
Just like the project discusses, I will stop at nothing to capture the important moments in my life. Despite recognizing the negative impacts excessive documentation may have on me, this night was no different — I wanted to be able to see + look back on the faces of those who made that night so special.
